Princess Eugenie has made her first appearance on her wedding day. The bride just arrived to the steps of St. George's Chapel in Windsor Castle, wearing a white portrait-neckline gown by Peter Piloto and Christopher de Vos. She's not wearing a wedding veil—instead, she's wearing the Grenville Tiara, which was owned by the Queen Mother, Queen Elizabeth II's mom.

Eugenie was already set on a wedding dress designer the moment she announced the wedding, which was in January. She “knew the designer, and the look, straight away,” she said in a previous interview.

She met Piloto and De Vos, who founded Peter Piloto in 2007, while hosting an event featuring women artists, according to the Palace. Eugenie, who's donned looks by the label in the past, worked closely with the duo to design the dress, looking to previous dresses worn by members of the family as inspiration.
The dress features a wide train, as the father of the bride previously revealed. It also has a V-neckline that folds around the shoulders and dips in the back, showing the scars from a surgery Eugenie had at age 12 for scoliosis.

The dress was constructed layer by layer, according to the Palace, from the corset and underskirt to the fitted bodice and full pleated skirt. It's made of made of jacquard silk, cotton, and viscose, and the intricate weaving on the top layer was done in Como, Italy.
Like Meghan's wedding day look, Eugenie's bridal ensemble includes a number of significant symbols. There's a Thistle for Scotland, in honor of the couple's love of Balmoral, Scotland; a shamrock for Ireland, in honor of the bride's maternal family, Ferguson; and the York Rose and ivy, in honor of the couple's home.

And although she kept her lips sealed on who she picked to make the dress, she assured it was by a “British-based designer.” Today’s big reveal ends months of speculation on who Eugenie would wear when she walks down the aisle to marry Jack Brooksbank.
Erdem began as a top contender behind the bridal look. It’s considered one of the princess’ go-to brands, as she’s worn its bold floral dresses for multiple past appearances. Eugenie, known for her quirk-inspired style and love of prints, even wore a knee-length cap-sleeve dress by the brand at her engagement photoshoot in January.

The label is also frequented by the Duchess of Cambridge, who actually just wore the designer for latest royal appearance. On Wednesday, Kate Middleton stunned in a tweed, off-the-shoulder frock by Erdem for her first official visit to the V&A museum as its royal patron.
Vivienne Westwood was also considered a possibility, because the bride had worn the designer to Prince William and Kate Middleton’s wedding in 2011. The bright blue look was a fashion risk and statement-maker; making it a contender for her bridal look.
